27/10/2009
THE FOSTERING Network's Saints and Scholars Annual Grand Charity Ball will take place at Whitla Hall, Queens University in Belfast on Friday 8 May 2009.
The ball will provide a night of entertainment within the grounds of the university. Guests will enjoy a champagne reception, four course meal, live music and casino tables. A highlight of the evening will be the announcement of Northern Ireland’s Foster Carer of the Year 2009.
Kate Lewis, director of the Fostering Network Northern Ireland, said: “We’re particularly pleased to welcome MediCare Pharmacy Group on board as the sponsors of the 2009 Foster Care of the Year.”
The ball’s main priority is to raise awareness of the urgent need for more foster carers throughout Northern Ireland and is a key part of the planned promotional activities for Foster Care Fortnight 2009 (11-24 May). The ball will celebrate the hard work of the foster carers in Northern Ireland.
Tickets are £65 per person or £600 per table of 10. All money raised from this event will go directly towards services that will improve life for children living with foster families in Northern Ireland.
For more information or to book a table please contact Lorna Patterson on 028 9070 5056 or email lorna.patterson@fostering.net.
Around 1,500 children live with foster families in Northern Ireland on any one day. The Fostering Network estimates that 350 more foster families are needed.
The Fostering Network is the UK’s leading charity for all those involved in foster care, and exists to ensure that fostered children receive the highest standards of care. The organisation has offices in Belfast, Cardiff, Glasgow and London
